I think "...if I had one wish I would wish that I had a normal face that no one ever noticed at all" is important because August (the main character) who said this quit wants the reader to know that no one treats him as a normal person and that he doesn't like who he is and he wants to be like everyone else. Also that he scared of who he is on the outside he just needs to be like himself on the inside. It's cool because August is afraid of who he really is. The point is that you can tell that August doesn't want to be who he really is but he should really be who he wants to be and that he wants to be like everyone else, also he is afraid of being teased all the time.
