Choose the Giver Movie

I think that The Giver movie is better than the book. My first reason is that it is hard to visualize the real picture that the book describes but when you watch the movie you can visualize it even better, the second reason is that the movie is almost like the Hunger Games series and I like the Hunger Games series, and finally the third reason is that in the movie the Chief Elder gives the story more of a conflict.

The first reason I think that the movie is better than the book is that since the book is really confusing when it comes to picturing things in the book well the movie helps you picture everything even better than it does in the book. One way that it helps you visualise scenes in the book is in the part at the ceremony of 12 when everyone got their job I pictured everything very different from the movie but now that I saw the movie I know what it looks like.

The second reason why the movie is better than the book is because it is almost like the Hunger Games series and I really like the Hunger Games. One of the ways it is like the Hunger Games is because in The Giver when they decide their job that is like the part in the Hunger Games series when they choose who is doing the Hunger Games. Although, another way they are similar is that they all have their training for the Hunger Games it similar to when they have their training for their job in The Giver.

The third reason why The Giver book is better than the movie is because the Chief Elder in the book wasn’t much of a conflict but in the movie the Chief Elder was a huge conflict. The Chief Elder was more of a conflict in the book because when everyone in the community got their memory back everyone's memories were happy but the Chief Elders memories were all about people getting hurt and war.

In conclusion, I think that I have proven to you that the Giver movie is better than the book because the movie helps the reader or watcher visualize what happens in the book and movie, also that the movie is just like the Hunger Games and I like the Hunger Games, and finally the Chief Elder makes a bigger conflict in the movie.

Amazing Memories

                                               The Landscape of Memory                      4/28/16

The Landscape of Memory talked about people with really cool memories. I was amazed by how they can remember what they ordered so many years ago. And every day the man can remember every order a customer ordered. How do these people have so well of a memory???

                                      The Pedestrian                            4/27/16

What I read in this short story was when Leonard Mead was walking and all of a sudden someone said "Put your hands up... or we'll shoot!" he hesitated for a second. I think that he should not be out at this time because he could get caught again like he just did. Why was he out at this time?

                                                  The Forecast                      4/27/16

What I read in this really short story was when the people were predicting what the weather guy is going to say. I think that they should not predict what he will say because it could blow the surprise. Why did they want to predict what he will say?

The End!

                             The Giver                                   4/26/16

What I read was when Jonas and Gabriel were still on their endless journey to Elsewhere and all of a sudden it starts to snow and they get even colder as they go on Jonas finds the sled that was in his snow memory and him and Gabriel get on the sled and ride down the hill until they see colorful lights. I wonder if they are going to go into the house that they found at the bottom of the hill. Did Jonas leave the bike behind?

The Escape

                         The Giver                                  4/25/16

The part that I read was when Jonas escaped at night and took Gabriel with him he stole his dad's bike which had a small seat for Gabriel to sit in, as they went on they started to run out of food so Jonas had to make a fishing net. I think that Jonas shouldn't have escaped because now he is turning weak and can't do as much. Why did Jonas want to escape in the first place???

The Plan

                               The Giver                                            4/21/16

The part in The Giver that I read was when Jonas and the Giver were making a plan for Jonas to escape to Elsewhere, while the Giver was telling Jonas the plan Jonas wanted the Giver to come with him but the Giver said no because he wanted to spend time with his daughter named Rosemary. I think that the Giver should and should not go with Jonas because Jonas might get lost on his way to Elsewhere and the Giver will not be at the ceremony to tell everyone where Jonas is. Since Rosemary is the Giver's daughter is she the one who wanted to be released ten years ago???

What is Release?

                                          The Giver                                   4/20/16

I just found out in the book The Giver that release is not when they just kick you out of the community but really a release is when they KILL you. I think that they should not have release I think that they should give the other children a chance in life to prove themselves that they can succeed. Why don't they just kick the release people out instead of KILL them???
